Nobody has more experience fighting for Connecticut than Themis Klarides.

Themis has been a constant opponent to the status quo in Connecticut. Never afraid to back down from what she believes in, and what’s good for Connecticut, Themis has been a constant firewall to tax-spend Democrats and has delivered commonsense solutions that changed Connecticut’s bad steady habits.

Themis has led the fight for good government reform, openness and transparency, and has won against some of the toughest odds.

Themis grew up in Seymour around her Greek family’s small business, a local grocery store. Her family roots in the valley instilled in her the values of hard work, giving back to her community, and fighting for what’s right.

These life lessons are what brought Themis to public service and a career of fighting for her neighbors, small and local businesses, and the community and state she loves. As a lawyer, small business owner and public servant, Themis has been a champion for those who need it most. Themis’ community involvement with groups such as BHCare, helping those in need of social services and victims of domestic violence, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), and Griffin Hospital, where she serves on the Board, are just some of the many fights she has taken on.

As the only woman to currently lead a caucus in our state capitol, Themis’ blunt, honest and direct approach has earned her the respect of her peers, and helped her lead the fight on some of the toughest issues Connecticut has faced in generations.
